Xin Feng is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University. She is PhD in Urban Studies and Planning Department of Urban Studies and Planning, after making a thesis on « The changing role of urban planners in transitional China: Expectations, appropriateness and 'making a difference’ » at the University of Sheffield, UK, where she taught for a year. She also have a Master in Urban Planning and Design at the Northeast Forestry University, China.

She is a member of several associations, such as the Regional Studies Association, Research Center of Urban Development and Evaluation, Shanghai Tongji Urban Planning& Design Institute, and the Urban Planning International.
